There’s something magical about a sister getaway—especially when it involves turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and zero responsibilities. My sister and I finally made it to the Bahamas, and let’s just say, we didn’t hold back on the fun.
The Great Packing Debate
Packing for paradise should be simple, right? Wrong. I told my sister to try packing with just a carry-on to avoid the hassle of checked luggage. Easy enough? Well… not exactly.
I thought I had mastered the art of packing light—until I found myself struggling to zip my bag shut. My brilliant solution? Using the expandable zipper, which instantly transformed my carry-on into a “no-go” situation. Naturally, my bag got checked at the gate, and my sister wasted no time throwing in a few playful digs. Sisters—they never let you live anything down! Next time I will be more prepared. Newley added to Rhelm.com is our set of packing cubes, and trust me you need them - Jetsetter Packing Cubes. Thank me later.
Arrival & First-Day Shenanigans
Touching down in the Bahamas, we were instantly hit with that warm, salty breeze and the urge to never leave. After checking into our dreamy resort at Goldwynn, we made a beeline for the beach—where we promptly declared ourselves mermaids and spent hours floating in the clearest water imaginable.
Cocktails (or no-tails) were a must, so we sipped on tropical delights as we lounged under the sun, debating whether we should do something adventurous or continue being fabulous beach bums. Spoiler alert: we did both.
Adventures & Laughs
From paddle boarding and kayaking to snorkeling, we fully embraced our inner island explorers. Just a bit further down the beach, we spotted jet skis and even more fun activities—but first, we needed to attempt beach yoga. Balancing in the sand turned out to be harder than expected, which led to a fit of giggles rather than a peaceful flow. Oh well—laughter burns calories, too!
One of the highlights? A boat excursion that took us to a secluded island, where we swam, sunbathed, and pretended we were starring in a travel commercial. We even made some new friends—both human and marine life!
We swam with the pigs, sorta.. more liken giving them a kabobs of sorts and they swim very rapidly to you and grab the food very expertly then swim to the next person. We had a super fun group people joining us as well as a very entertaining staff, tossing us beverages and playing super fun loud music we were all signing to and popping our heads to... Many fun married couples, no kids ironically then my sister and I. Although my sister and I had a big, late night the night before at the jazz club .. we made it through the excursion.. There is something about sun, ocean air and water plus serious good vibes that just whisks you up and takes you onto the next fun adventure... no time to feel tired, and all done in the most comfortable dress - Active Dress.
Sister Bonding & Beachside Bliss
Of course, no sister trip would be complete without deep convos under the stars, laughter that made our abs hurt (workout accomplished), and a few ridiculous dance-offs. Whether it was indulging in fresh seafood, exploring local markets, or simply soaking up the Bahamian vibes, this trip was exactly what we needed.
We left with sun-kissed skin, sandy suitcases, and a renewed appreciation for the magic of sister time. And yes, we’re already planning our next adventure—because life’s too short not to chase the sun with your built-in best friend.
Until next time, Bahamas! ☀️🌊💙
